Gremlins, Seabloke & Dad - My All Time Love

Gremlins were literally poster babies. They were featured in magazines (for mothers, distributed in clinics), and highly sought after by commercial advertisers (Seabloke turned them down).

Now 6, twins are the most popular kids in school. They have the loveliest lips (extremely pillowy - like their father's), large, twinkling, talking eyes (large like their father's, twinkling like my Dad's), fair complexion (MINE), long dark silky hair (don't know who they take after - their father hasn't a lot of hair, Seabloke has hair long damaged by sea water, mine's simply unmanageable), and LONG, LEAN body (totally their father's genes). Models in the making.

Looks aside (we shan't be shallow), twins have the most magnetic personality - extremely inquisitive, and mischievous/evil and compassionate and considerate all at the same time.

Sea recounted that on one recent occasion when they were out having tea at Macdonalds, the younger twin (De) noticed an elderly lady huddling in a corner all by herself, with no food on her table. De asked her mother if she could get the lady a hot chocolate coz she looked cold and hungry. Sea went to get the drink, which De brought to the lady. The lady broke into a smile, stroke De's head gently, and told De that she was waiting for her daughter. The whole time that she was sitting there alone shivering, no one had approached her to find out if she was alright. No one cared. Except De.

De reminds me of my Dad.

Dad would always help the needy and those weaker than him. When we were kids, Dad would always have money ready for us so we can put them into the tins of elderly (we would never give to the young and healthy) folks that we found sleeping on the streets. He would always stop his car to help victims of car accidents, and he would always make bullies and bad people EXTREMELY SORRY. Dad had a piercing glare that would send shivers down the spine of the most unruly of characters. Yet the same pair of eyes would make any lady melt...

Dad always taught us to be very good to good people, and very firm with unscrupulous ones (we took it a step further - we were malicious in every sense when dealing with the latter).

De is now like Sea and me when we were kids. She terrorizes naughty boys.

V (the older twin) is sweet like her father. And extremely sentimental like my Dad. V is the one that fell on the ice-skating rink. She is extremely bossy - like Granny and Dad - gives very specific instructions - to adults - on how things are to be done. And like Granny and Dad, she likes to feed people. The many occasions that Sea had dropped by with a whole week's supply of food for me - V's orders.

Sea popped by with V yesterday with my favorite food and dessert, and a bottle of the strangest looking concoction that's supposed to invigorate me (so I won't fall asleep while trading....I'm absolutely loving the smell of my home now!). They didn't stay long - Sea figured I needed to get back to my charts.

This morning, Sea sent me this:

on our way back V asked why yeeyee doesn't leave home..

V: issit cos yy doesn't want anyone to see her face?

me: why do you ask that? do you think yy is ugly?

V: no.. yy is pretty!

me: who's prettier, yy or mummy?

V: mummy..

me: (nod in approval) yy vs V?

V: me!

me: yy vs De?

V: yy
(muahahaha!)

me: yy vs ah jiong (D)?

V: yy..

me: yy vs gu por ("gu por" is how Chinese address their parent's aunts - twin's "gu por" is my very pretty 62 year-old aunt, my Dad's only sister)?

V: yy..

me: yy vs keisha (my cat - the one that eats my rugs, carpet and books and watches National Geographic)?

V: YY!

ok, i'm rest assured they know the hierarchy :-D

lunch good? dessert good? We had a whole pack of famous amos the other day. We passed by one just now and V insisted must buy for YY so i said no.. yy will become fat cos yy is a cookie monster, once start cannot stop. She was so smart i tell you... she said "then we get the smallest pack so she can't eat that much?"

D finished the cookies. He is the bona fide cookie monster.

Soybean Trades

The ZS (Soybean) is a very nice instrument to trade. I've sim traded it for a while (as I did with CL before trading live), paying close attention to its movement compared with CL. Still watching and learning.

IB's Booktrader showing my ZS sim trade (Highlighted in blue is the HOD and that's my targeted exit for an opened position. 1 tick or 0.0025 cent = USD 12.50):

Chart below shows my 2 ZS entries. With the first, I haven't done anything too different except that I held it overnight (I really doubt that I'll do the same for live trades. As a matter of fact, I don't think I will ever hold a futures trade overnight. I won't be able to sleep. That's the difference between sim and real money trading.). Just prior to the start of the trading session yesterday, I was already in the 300 - 400 profit zone. Holding contract to target added another 700. Nice daily range.

ZS 200-Tick
Not trading live at all for the rest of Dec. Will take the time to study grains and energy futures, possibly gold too.

Ok, Fine, It's Christmas

For those who are interested: I found this market report on energy futures on CFTC (I like to know everything).

Here's a monthly report on all commodity futures. Again, for those who like to complicate their life.

I am officially VERY sick of the market (nothing to do with the market, it's just me and my eyes). So I'm going to take the rest of the month off to study my oil, soybean, wheat, corn, 6B, 6J, 6E and TF charts.

About my comment section (I know, I know, I'm a broken record) - I am the only one that can comment on my post (if I wish to, that is, but I don't know why I would want to do that YET), so please do not think/feel that you have been excluded from my circle. I love all that I regard as friends. If only I have the time to write to each and every one of you...

6J, 6B, 6E, TF Trades 12/14 (Mon) - BAD Tobacco

Total : - USD 156

6B 5min
Missed the above 6B trade, and totally lost my cool after that.

I blame nicotine.

It was shortly after I came out of my 6J trade when I spotted the 6B trade.

Put in a buy order and waited.

Then I got listless coz I haven't had my morning nic fix
.

Pulled the order and went out for a quick smoke break.

Came back in to see price soaring towards my entry price.

Went in at market right at where I had initially placed my stop order, not realizing that I had unarmed the DOM before I stepped away from my workstation (Keish loves to do her catwalk on my keyboard), and so the order didn't go through.

Decided not to chase. I refused to go in at a lousy price.

My 4-point target was hit - took just three 5-min candles.

When D got home, I told him I am quitting smoking for good, coz cigarettes are really bad for trading.

I've stayed away from cigarettes for a good 6 years before picking it up again in early May 2008 - exactly when I started blogging and trading (one of the darkest periods in my life, NOT coz of trading of course) - so I'm sure I can do this without the help of drugs that make me puke.

I'm going to miss nic breaks with D. We don't talk to each other a lot inside our cave coz we are always too engrossed by work, and smoke breaks are the only time that we have our casual chats. They are always fun. We would hold hands and enjoy the cool evening breeze. Sometimes we stare at the moon and marvel at clouds, stars and lightning bolts. Most times we check out strange looking insects and gigantic moths, and joke about "smoked grasshoppers" for Alberto.

Targeting for next week to quit. I still want to trade this week (I'm prepared to get really edgy during the cold turkey period so I'll halt all trading for 2 weeks - probably the best time to take a break anyway).

Just one of those losing days that makes no sense.

6J Trade 12/14 (Mon)

6J 5min
I'm having a difficult time figuring out where everything's heading. It wasn't the way I felt when I was doing my analysis over the weekend. Somehow everything changed this morning. Typical Dec.

6J was about the only thing that was moving. Oil is dead. For now.

Loose Ends

There won't be any trading for me today. I'm spending the day taking care of non-trading matters, and finishing a few books that I'm currently reading.

Gremlins made me a lovely bookmark. They must have noticed that besides trading, my only other passion is reading. Absolute darlings.

AUDUSD Long position - I have a small 10k non-leveraged position I'm still holding. I might let it go next week. For now, daily chart's not giving me any signal to exit trade.

Blog comments - I've deactivated comments (meant to be "off" by default anyway) again. I don't mean to be rude/mean/cold/anti-social - I'm merely doing everything I can to eliminate distractions during this intensive learning phase.

My business plan for 2010 is still in skeletal form. I wonder if it'll ever materialize into the thesis that I thought I wanted it to be. While I've always been extremely goal-oriented and unrelenting in my previous job, I'm just not the same person now. I guess it has a lot to do with my impression of the market, that it's something that's completely fluid - formless, border-less, sometimes seemingly completely clueless - and no amount of planning on my part is going to help me navigate the terrain better.

We'll see.

CL Trades 12/10 (Thurs) - Stopped, Stopped, Bingo

Total: + USD 208

CL 200-Ticks
I can't help it. $70 is a bargain - for now at least.

I've used rather tight stops for the first 2 entries (red arrows). After all, price hasn't broken beneath a bear channel that started at the most recent peak (71.20), and so I wasn't sure...

3rd Shot (Blue Arrow)
70.44 was the upper range of a zone support, and also where price had hit a bear wolfe target (an overshoot in fact). Most importantly, price has overshot the black bull channel (I love overshoots), and I was betting on price to bounce off 70.44 on a strong bull reversal.

Stop was at 70.39, and subsequently moved to 70.71. No breakeven stop for this trade.

Target was wherever price hit the bottom of the pink wedge (connecting point 1 to 4 of the wedge is the thick pink trendline along which lies the target for a wolfe setup short from 71.20).

I'll stop for the day. Taking a break before I start losing perspective.

Oil, Long & Wrong & Skating Incident

I'm turning on comments for my heartthrob (HUGH DILLON) lookalike, Long & Wrong

Am not going to be trading for the rest of the week (ok, maybe just 100 - 200 shares of ETFs) anyway...

Comments on skating incident most welcome!

I had a scare today. Lost time and was trapped in a CL trade for what seemed like a century when oil inventory data was released. It was much easier to follow US time during their daylight saving period. For now, 10:30am ET is 11:30pm my time, and I keep losing track of data release time.

To cut a long story short, I was long CL and everything was good, I was making about 200 when all of a sudden, price disappeared from IB's booktrader. I hit "re-centre" and was astounded/appalled/petrified and felt totally screwed when my PnL column showed -500, then straight to -1000, all before I could blink my eyes ONCE. D was in the shower. When he got out, he was quiet. I was quiet. Got out at a place that's 15 cents (1.5 points) lower than my previous target. Price continued to soar a couple of points above my initial target (I was targeting for a 3-point target - where pivot was). But I was just glad I got out unscathed. The point plus profit's a bonus.

D put his ear on my chest, and was beyond amazed to hear NORMAL heartbeat.

Somehow, I'm the calmest when under severe stress. D asked why I hadn't gotten out when price plunged to -500. I replied that so far, I've never been killed by spikes. I die slow deaths.

Anyway, that's why I need my break. I think I've had a scare. My brain just didn't register I guess.

St Joseph's Church Kindergarten - Clinical Reply From Governing Agency & Prior "Scratching" Incident

I'm beyond pissed. The reply to Seabloke from the authority overseeing the school is beyond atrocious. I am taking this to the highest authority. As an ex-civil servant, I know a clinical response when I see one. This has got to be the most insincere DRAFT that I've come across. In fact, I am sure that the reply was written by the principal herself, and terribly vetted by the person endorsing it.

The reply was sent out via the person's GMAIL ACCOUNT. An official reply's supposed to come from the office email, or in the form of a proper letter that comes with the agency's letterhead!

Seabloke is a responsible mother. She used to inspect the places that Gremlins were supposed to be taken to on outings. Just prior to Gremlin's fall, she had asked for the exact location of another outing that they were supposed to attend, and no teachers would give it to her. When she subsequently found out where it was, and went there personally, the teachers showed their displeasure. It is clear to me now why they were not pleased at all to see Seabloke there. Who likes to be caught NOT doing their job??

The ridiculously laughable and OFFENSIVE (offensive coz facts were twisted - Gremlin's cut needed stitches and she was DRIPPING BLOOD for an hour! What person with a heart would call that a MINOR cut???) reply (Gremlin's name replaced with "X" to protect her identity):

We thank you for your email of December 2nd 2009 and regret that your daughter X had suffered a cut on her lower chin on the 26th of November, 2009, on the second day, during the school's outing at the Kallang Ice World skating rink. We are relieved however to learn from you that she is much better, although she is still feeling some discomfort from her cut.

At your request, we would like to share with you some information which we have obtained from the Kindergarten staff.

The incident happened during the self practice period after formal training by the coach. There were six teachers present. Three were in the rink at the time of the incident inside the rink and three outside tending to children wishing to rest. None of the teachers saw X fall; they however were immediately aware of her injury when she exit the rink helped by some of her classmates as they went towards the teachers outside the rink. Ms Ho (X's class teacher) who also happened to be there, immediately attended to her by cleaning her cut which also included applying some antiseptic cream from the kindergarten's first aid box.

We understood that Ms Ho had contacted you immediately and that you said that your were going immediately to the ice rink. A staff from the ice rink also inspected X's injury and had opined that it was a minor cut. As you were on the way, X seemed to be in quite a stable condition and the bleeding had stopped, the teachers had decided to wait for your arrival to see if you still wanted to bring X to the clinic or to take her home with you.

We are satisfied that that the teachers, in particular Ms Ho was attending to X and had her in their sight all the time after her fall. Ms Ho was only a few meters away when you arrived.

We, at the Kindergarten's management appreciate the importance of safety and care for the children and would like to assure you that this is a top priority in the Kindergarten. Inspite of the best precautions taken accidents do happen and when they do occur we will thoroughly investigate and review if there was more that we could have done.

You had mentioned that X is still suffering from some discomfort and may need medical attention. Please do contact Ms Angeline Wong, the Kindergarten's principal or myself and we will arrange with you for our Kindergarten's doctor to attend to her.

We thank you once again for bring this to our attention and we offer again our regrets for this unfortunate accident.

An prior incident recounted by the parent of the boy that was scratched (I'm appalled that the principal's total lack of responsibility is condoned to this day!):

I've removed article. It occurred to me the parent's permission has not been sought (although I really don't think she'll mind my sharing her experience.)

6B & CL Trades 12/8 (Tues) - Crude Oil Is Mad

Just 1 scratched 6B trade, and 1 CL trade from globex hour:

Total for Dec 8th 's 6B & CL trades : + USD 188

CL 200-Ticks (+ 2 Points)
I must have waited for 5 hours to buy oil. Then, as we were having dinner and watching star trek, I spotted my entry. Got in and got out in under 1 min. Then I tapped D's shoulder. D turned around, saw my trade, and was amazed by how stealth I've become.

I had him press his ear against my chest.

D said no more crude for me for the rest of the week, and imposed a quota of 2 CL trades per week.

Trading ETFs after US market opens. They are just better for the heart.

Trades 12/8 (Tues) - Nothing Much Happening

12/7 (Mon) - 12/8 (Tues)

ETF
Long DIG late last night (my last night, 12/7 at 11:30pm; 10:30am ET) and EARLY this morning (my morning, 12/8 at 2am; 1pm ET) but price started stalling after breaking downtrendlines. Both trades were scratched. I needed sleep.

6B
Still bearish on USD. Can't help it. Long 6B during lunch (my lunch time, 12/8 at 12:30pm; 12/7 11:30pm ET) but scratched trade. Waiting for further development. Market's slow and quiet. If nothing good shows up, will spend the day reading Ryan Jones, and nurturing my AUDUSD position.

Leverage & Trading Performance

D was reviewing my trading performance for the year via IB's statement (new format's impressive) and Oanda's, and reported that my ETF and FX trading record is perfect but my futures trading really sucks.

D asked if leverage has something to do with it.

I nodded.

Then D broke the good news: as long as I'm trading single TF contracts, I'm leveraged 1:1. No leverage! I could never get a margin call! Yay!!!

Doesn't mean that I'll sit on losing trades though. Knowing that I won't ever get a margin call allows me to really focus on the proper execution of my trades.

6J and CL are still highly leveraged. 6E and 6B are not so bad. But all remain instruments that I'll continue to trade.

Will be trading light for the rest of the week. Am in the midst of finishing a book on money management. When I'm done, will include real money management for the first time in my trading.

Trades 12/7 (Mon) - I LOVE CRUDE!

Total: + USD 320

CL 200-Ticks
Waited for a trendline break. CL broke out. Waited for pull back. CL pulled back to touch red downtrend line for the 3rd time. Lovely! 3rd touch! Now what else do I need? A profit target. Lo and behold, a Wolfe appeared!

Went in with a stop at the low of the pattern. It was the first time I was trading crude oil LIVE. Heart was racing. Moved stop to break even. Heart was still racing. D asked why breakeven. Why not a tick above. I told him to shut up. Then I decided that a good experience with crude should be my target. Exited after taking 11 cents. My hand was still shaking and it totally cracked D up.

DIG and DUG - Totally D's. He bought DIG when I was long CL. He bought DUG when I told him CL totally hit my Wolfe target. I teased him. He agreed that he has no views of his own. D's pissed. Muahahaha!!!

I'm done with futures for the day and helping D to move his portfolio.

TF account's going to idle for as long as there's no clear direction on indices.

Update: WOLFE pattern showing the wave counts (For more details on Wolfe, do check out Todd's blog. He has a wealth of info on Wolfe and other patterns that appear often on futures and stocks charts.):

All longs except the last are losers; all shorts, winners

Odd. I am actually bearish on the USD (Which is why I'm still holding my AUDUSD FX trade. Not selling unless it breaks below support on daily chart.). Last trade was a long on a "3rd touch" setup. Given that it's a countertrend trade, I didn't want to stretch it, and took profit once price started stalling. Wasn't sure price was really going for channel ceiling.

D's working from home. I promised a massage after I'm done.

Trading CL instead of TF unless TF stops showing ugly charts.

St Joseph's Church Kindergarten & Gremlin's Bleeding Chin

Following Gremlin's fall at the ice-skating ring, Seabloke had asked the principal of the school for details of what actually happened that day. She got none. The principal was merely interested in indemnifying Seabloke for the medical expenses she's incurred.

Gremlin later shared that after she fell, and tried to get up, the younger twin, together with another 6-year-old, had come to her aid, and the 3 kids then skated along the edge of the ring, holding on to whatever they could grab hold of for support, to get Gremlin out of the ring. The principal, and 2 other teachers were SKATING IN THE RING. What Gremlin said was consistent with accounts Seabloke gathered from the other kids who saw Gremlin fall. NO TEACHERS CAME FORWARD TO HELP. The younger twin seemed to be the only one watching over her sister!

What I found truly unbelievable was that the first words uttered by the principal when Seabloke approached her was that Gremlin had fallen herself (yes, we know you didn't push her!). And days after the incident, she just wanted to know how much Seabloke had forked out to get her daughter stitched up so the school could pay her back.

Seabloke doesn't want money. She wants answers!

Since she couldn't get them from the principal, she wrote in to a few agencies, and sent a mail to Rev. Edmund of the kingdergarten as well.

There was a prior incident at the school that was retold by a mother on a mother's forum that has gone missing. I can't open the cache, but captured the result that google yielded:

Seabloke's letter (the part in bold - I bold it coz it's what MAKES ME MAD STILL):

I write with concern over an incident during a recent St Joseph's Church Kindergarten outing where my 6-year-old (K2) daughter was a participant. I mean no malice and do not wish to be antagonistic. I hope you read this in a neutral light as I attempt to present the events in as factual a manner as I can.

On the 26th Nov '09, the school organised a holiday program - ice-skating at Kallang Ice World. I left my daughter in care of the school at 8am to board the school bus with the other participants for this activity.

At 11am, I received a call from one of the teachers, Ms Ho, saying my daughter was "pushed, fell, hurt her chin, and bleeding". She went on to say she had to call me as she needed instructions as to whether I wanted the teachers to send my daughter to a clinic downstairs, or to wait for me at the skating rink. According to Ms Ho, the wound was bleeding quite a fair bit, and will most probably require stitches.

As I was not there to assess the injury, I based my decision on what she described and left instructions to have my daughter sent to the clinic immediately while I made my way to the venue. I requested through Ms Ho that the doctor call me before any procedures were done on my daughter. Our phone conversation ended with her acknowledgment of my request.

As I was caught in heavy traffic, I rang Kallang Ice World at 11.20am to find out if my daughter had been sent to the clinic and if there was any update on the situation. The staff of Kallang Ice World knew nothing and could not answer any of my queries. I asked to speak with Ms Ho.

Shortly after, Ms Ho came on the line and reported that my daughter had not been sent to the clinic because they "did not have her particulars". She went on to say the bleeding "had stopped".

I arrived at Kallang Ice World at around 11.30am. Upon entering the premises, I noticed my daughter was sitting in the crowd by herself, with no teacher within her immediate vicinity. It was only when I approached that Ms Ho ushered me towards my daughter. When I neared, I observed her chin was still dripping blood!

By my estimate, having been called at 11am by Ms Ho, that the accident must have happened some minutes prior, and as the present time was already 11.45am, my daughter would have bled for about an hour or more. To be fair, my daughter did tell me Ms Ho used tissue and held it at her chin in attempt to stop the bleeding.

She was subsequently left to sit alone until I arrived.

When I asked, none of the teachers had gauze or tissues with them, so I carried my daughter to the skate rental counter and requested some tissues. Upon my questioning, I was told by the counter staff that none of the staff at Kallang Ice World is first-aid trained.

While I tended to my daughter's wound at the rink, only Ms Ho approached me to ask how she was.

Some other customers there showed concern, and through my conversations with them, I found to my utter dismay that the children were not in any protective gear (helmet, knee/elbow guard etc) at all. These are 6-year-olds, who have never been exposed to skating, and practically all of them were learning for the first time.

It also came to my understanding that 37 children signed up for the program when the consent form capped the number of participants at 24. No one could say for sure how many of them were on the rink at any given time. To make matters worse, none of the teachers could tell me with any certainty either.

The Principal of St Joseph's Church Kindergarten, Miss Angeline Wong, was at a distance and did not approach me.

I went up to her and expressed my disappointment at how the whole thing was being handled, and how my daughter was not given due care.

Miss Wong was quick to emphasise my daughter "fell on her own".

This is contrary to what Ms Ho first told me when she called to say that my daughter was pushed.

Miss Wong went on to say they applied antiseptic cream. She could not explain when I asked why the bleeding was not stopped prior to applying the cream.

I found out from my daughter that in order to contact me, the teachers had to get my number from her, an injured, bleeding, scared, and freezing girl.

As a very concerned parent, I would like some answers, and some assurance that corrective measures will be taken to address the following issues.

Please note I am not on a witch-hunt, and do not accuse or seek any person's reprimand or dismissal over this matter. I desire to understand the established practice and procedures in handling such incidences and how the school could improve on it in future. I do hope you do not treat my queries lightly.

1) Could there be a lapse in supervision at the skating venue since none of the teachers is able to give an accurate account of the accident?

2) Why did the teachers not have the relevant student particulars on hand so that my daughter could have been taken to the clinic sooner? Was the information not given to the school for precisely such circumstances?

3) Why did the school teachers not bring along a first-aid kit? Did they assume there would be access to one at the venue? The staff I spoke with could not provide me with such (though a Mr Chang How I spoke with later confirmed there is a first-aid kit within the premises).

4) Why was there no conscientious effort to ensure my daughter remained safe after the fall? When I arrived she was seated among the crowd of children, with her chin still bleeding. No constant pressure was applied to the wound until the bleeding stopped, and no adult accompanied her to monitor her condition and provide comfort during the wait.

5) In evaluating the venue for school activities, was it discovered that Kallang Ice World has no trained First-Aider? Was this a priority especially so since none of the teachers present were known to be First Aid trained? Is not a first aid trained teacher or assistant required to be on duty on any school outing?

6) Is it not the school's responsibility to ensure a safe environment for children's activities? In selecting Kallang Ice World, did the school insist that the children be provided with and don appropriate protective gear?

7) No matter whose fault it is, fact remains there is an injured child. Would common decency not dictate that as much care as possible be given to him/her? From what could be observed, there seems to be a lapse in care.

8) Did the teachers realise that during the entire time my daughter sat waiting, she was in fact cold, in pain, bleeding, and hungry? The sandwich she brought with her was only half eaten, as the other half was stained with blood from her dripping chin.

Notwithstanding signed consent and indemnity forms, the school does bear responsibility in due care and diligence. These should be extended and exercised to the maximum capability of the school and her staff, who assumes such responsibility by virtue of accepting enrollment of said child in the school and during school activities. In my observation of the sequence of events and the responses I have received from your school staff, I fear to conclude that insufficient care and help was rendered.

To iterate, I do not seek to lay blame, but to seek answers to the above and hope that the appropriate remedies are made. Of course accidents do happen, and it is only fortunate this accident is not more serious than it is. It's how the situation is dealt with after the accident that is at issue here. Perhaps it is likely that should this incident be taken as a learning experience, such situations could be averted in future?

TF Trades 12/4 (Fri) - Wrap Up

Total: + 1.9 Points

TF 200-tick
I am officially very sick of TF's min charts. Was checking out its tick chart shortly after getting out of my globex hour trade, and noticed that it was nice. That run up before market open was crazy but not unexpected. Had I switched to a tick chart earlier, I wouldn't have gotten out of my scratched position.

But I don't look back, so all's good.

I had been focusing on the bull flag and for price to break on the upside and didn't even realize that market has opened. When price indeed broke above and didn't look like it was pulling back just yet, I put in a buy stop order to get in at 602.8.

Order was filled when D got back to his workstation. He asked to take over, so I let him. Told him to set a limit order to sell at 605 (target was determined much earlier before trade was entered - I went with Fib 211.8 but chose 605 coz it's a whole number and it's a "5"). When TF got to 604, I told him to move stop to breakeven. The next second, I heard "SHIT".

"ok, good, we got 1 point right?" I figured D had ACCIDENTALLY closed my trade.

"We got 1.1" A very, very remorseful D replied, as we both watched price shoot pass 605.

"YAY!!! SMOKE BREAK!" Like I said, I don't look back.

Even Alberto sensed that D was upset, and came running to console him. I told D that it was alright, that I make mistakes much more often than he does (and my mistakes usually cost us big time). D promises that he will start to get used to using the BookTrader instead. But he was still mad with himself. So I had to tell him that actually I wasn't sure that moving stop to breakeven was such a great idea, and would have probably bailed at 604 anyway.

D's now HAPPY.

Men.

Update: I totally forgot about non-farm until I read Paul's post! But then again, had I gone with tick-chart, I would still have bought a breakout on the upside on both the globex trade and the post-market open trade. It was actually the min chart that got me in too early on the globex trade. Great, I just blamed my chart. Soon I'll be blaming my cat. He wants food and massage everytime I sit on a losing trade.
